Western Timber has been in the logging business for over 29 years. We have the expertise to manufacture your logs in a manner that will give you the highest dollar return possible. Our four main woods employees have been with us for 3, 16, 26 and 28 years.
Western Timber, Inc. is in the business of buying timber and/or timberland for CASH. We also harvest timber on a percentage contract, with a substantial CASH ADVANCE!
We utilize tree length logging, which allows for consistent log manufacturing on the landing. The limbs and tops then can be piled and burned, if allowed, on the landing. It also will leave the logged unit ready for easy replanting.
Landings, roads and skid tracks are constructed, used and maintained in such a manner so as to minimize damage to reserved trees and property of the land owner.
Stumps are cut as low as possible to enhance the area.
We consult with land and timber owners on harvest areas, projected volumes and the current market prices to provide realistic values to be expected.
We fall, yard, manufacture and deliver the logs to various log purchasers to obtain the best prices available for each species.
We prepare all required Washington State Department of Natural Resources and County permits.
We prepare for submittal the Washington State Department of Revenue forest excise tax forms and any associated paperwork.
We hire and supervise reforestation as needed of the harvested area.
We log primarily private timber and market about 12,000,000 board feet annually. This has enabled us to develop good working relationships with both log purchasers and the Government Agencies that oversee logging operations. We also participate in the Accredited Loggers Program sponsored by the Washington Contract Loggers Association in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
Our equipment consists of a 2005 320 CAT Log Loader, a 2004 Kenworth Log Truck, a 2003 325 CAT Log Loader, a 2006 648 G-III Grapple Skidder, a 2002 648 G-III Grapple Skidder, a 1999 527 CAT Low Ground Pressure Track Skidder, and a HAHN Log Processor.
